List
Falls can happen anytime and any
place. They are a particularly serious problem for older Americans.
But there's good news.
Falls Can Be Prevented!
Keeping seniors safe in their home is our
goal. ALERT UTAH developed a program call Safety at Home.
This program is designed to
provide
seniors, their
caregivers
and healthcare professionals with a comprehensive program to avoid falls in the
future and thereby reduce fall related injuries.
We have found that our
subscriber's care about their loved one's and their safety while living in their
own homes. As a part of the Safety at Home program,
ALERT UTAH
put together a Home Safety Check List to help families recognize potential
safety hazards in the home. This safety list takes in to consideration
most areas of the home like the bathroom, bedroom, kitchens and more.
The majority of seniors wish to continue to live in their own home for as long
as possible. However, many homes as not well designed or equipped to meet
the safety needs as they age.
We are making this safety
list available to you. If you would like to print a copy of this
safety
check list, click the grab bar and print off as many sheets as you need.
Give a copy to your parents, friends, other family members, neighbors, anyone
that needs to review possible falls risks in the home.
ALERT UTAH offers this information for general
educational and informational purposes only. The information is not exhaustive
and
does not cover all the fall related areas that could or might be present in
a home.
